About the job
Under the direct supervision of the Property Manager, assists in the selection of tenants for properties owned and managed by the Housing Authority. Maintains tenant files including sending eligibility packets, lease ups, re-certification notices, processing verifications, calculating rents, processing accounts receivables, inputting computer data, correspondence, etc. Generates work orders and works closely with the maintenance team. Schedules and assists with move-in, move-out, and annual property inspections to determine compliance standards set by HUD. Maintains occupancy rates at a maximum level by filling all vacancies on a timely basis. Shows vacant units to prospective tenants. Acts as mediator to resolve resident disputes. Assists the Property Manager in the eviction process. Receives first-line complaints and monitors lease violations, addresses issues with tenants. Reviews and develops a working understanding of all rules, regulations, laws, legal interpretations and applications as defined by HUD and local laws.
Requirements
Two or more consecutive years of full-time paid work experience in property management and business administration or directly related to the above summary of duties.
Must possess a valid Utah driver license and be insurable under the Housing Authority's auto insurance.
Understanding of human relations and communications
Knowledge of ethnic and economic diversity. Ability to respectfully handle various interpersonal situations and ability to work effectively with individuals from varied backgrounds.
General computer and keyboarding skills and ability to work independently and as part of a broader team.
